Gandhiji Seva Sangam (GSS) is a non-profit, non-political, secular, and non-governmental development organization committed to empowering marginalized and vulnerable communities across Tamil Nadu, India. Founded in 1992 by Mr. K. Pitchai, GSS is deeply inspired by the principles and philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi, especially non-violence, self-reliance, equality, and service to humanity. For over three decades, GSS has worked at the grassroots level to promote inclusive development by addressing the social, economic, and environmental challenges faced by rural and semi-urban communities. Our interventions are people-centered, participatory, and sustainable—designed to enable communities to take ownership of their own development. Through our integrated programs in women’s empowerment, children’s welfare, youth development, health and hygiene, livelihood enhancement, and environmental protection, GSS has positively impacted the lives of more than 1,50,000 individuals, including women, children, youth, farmers, and disadvantaged families. Currently, GSS operates in nearly 200 rural and semi-urban villages across Madurai and Dindigul districts, striving to foster long-term, inclusive, and community-driven progress.
